Panel says professor plagiarized, fabricated
BOULDER - An investigation of a professor who likened some of the Sept. 11, 2001 victims to Nazi Adolf Eichmann found serious cases of misconduct in his academic research, including plagiarism and fabrications, a University of Colorado spokesman said yesterday. One member of the five-person investigative committee recommended that Ward Curchill, an ethics studies professor, be fired, and four recommended he be suspended, university spokesman Barrie Hartman said. Churchill has repeatedly denied any wrongdoing. (AP)

Abra-Cadabra-Fabra-cation! No way! Someone in Academia who is not ethical? This is barbaric! An ethics professor being unethical? An oxymoron, but then there are plenty of morons to go around. They are not oxes, though. They are asses. Now here’s something that is either an urban (or maybe an “academic”) legend –either that, or an amusing fact: I read long ago that a divinity college’s bookstore had a problem with shoplifted Bibles. Ouch. Kinda stings a bit…

I had a kid in an all-Muslim ESL class last week steal a DVD on the history of Islam. Is that messed up or what?
